A Trip to Remember!

Today, we arrived at Rock-N-Water! I was so excited but a little nervous because it was my first camping trip! We arrived at the meeting place. We played a few games and ate lunch. Camp was off to a great start! After that, we were assigned to some groups. I was in Charlotte’s group. We each made up  a team name.

After that, we went somewhere else in our “wagons” or cars. We were told to look for boots on fences but we didn’t see any. When we got there, we walked around and learned about this “claim” we were on.

Soon after that, we went to our camp site. We took out all our belongings and started building the tent. It took us a while, but we managed to finish.

The cowbell was rung and we rushed to the eating area. We said our prayers and ate. We ate chili that night. The chili was delicious! After that, we helped wash dishes in different stations. We drank apple cider afterwards.

We were told to go to the fireplace. During the night, we laughed, sang and danced. We also listened to music and stories. Now, it was time to go to bed. I thought to myself, “Could camp get any better?”

In the morning, we ate breakfast and packed up. I was sad we had to go today. We went with Charlotte to do a few activities. First, we learned how to twist a rope. It was hard at first, but we got the hang of it. Next we panned for gold! I didn’t find any, but it was a cool experience. We went to a few gold mines, hiked, and visited the museums.

The last activity was to visit a secret area. The area was a river shore and it was spectacular! Sadly, it was time to go. After we said our goodbyes, we went and got in our wagons. This is a memory I will never forget.
