We didn’t do it on our own. Rock-N-Water has received blessings upon blessings since the beginning from such a large amount of people who have been supporting and praying for us as we follow our vision, to help others experience God through adventuring His creation. Rock-N-Water is really the result of and defined by a huge number of people who have dedicated themselves and their service to the Lord, to the development of R-N-W, and to it’s ministries.
Serving our Lord
So many, perhaps a majority, of the Rock-N-Water staff, labor not so much for their wage, but to serve the Lord and provide support to the growth of our guests’ walk with Christ. They see Rock-N-Water programs as powerfully effective and choose to go far beyond their required duties: often giving all that they can to provide life changing opportunities for our guests. They are the ones that make what R-N-W is today with their loving actions and words.
This desire to see good be done through Rock-N-Water is not limited to the staff that work there. There have been many people from the surrounding Christian community who have blessed us since the beginning stages of Rock-N-Water and continue to bless and support us as we spread the love of God to all who come through. We have been showered with gifts of prayer, discounted services, staff working at hourly rates much less than they deserve, and with gifts of love.
Since the beginning, God has always provided for us by putting people in our lives who were gracious enough to donate and work to help our effort. From pots and pans to various tools, local families provided many of the things we needed to start up and get things going. The families of Rock-N-Water’s founders helped to build trailers, repair cars, and provided us with the working space we needed at their homes to store gear and to prepare for our incoming trips. There was so much help with the work of not only forming our camp logistically, but also the physical work of forming our camp and making it how it is today.
Help from the outside
During the beginnings of Rock-N-Water, the help we received had been mainly from our founder’s friends and family. However, we also were blessed by those who didn’t know us at all. The generous and trusting Bacchi family allowed us to use one of their finest pieces of property: their family picnicking area. Their family granted us this land even when we were so small and new that profits could not have been their primary hope. However, now we are one of their largest renters from the rafting industry and we couldn’t have done it without this family’s incredible generosity and faith in us.
The words of encouragement and prayers of those who believed that Rock-N-Water could be a tremendous tool of our Lord’s, help keep us going through difficult times; and it seems that no matter how successful Rock-N-Water is, we still need those words of encouragement, as difficulties are never hard to find. Our guests are consistently feeding us with their fire for Christ and the encouraging results they see in their lives and in their students’ lives.
Love from our campers
Rock-N-Water could never be what it is without the generosity it has received from hundreds, and if you count our guests, thousands of people who have reached out in someway to help us keep doing what we have been called to do. Over the last 27 years, we have had approximately 80,000 guests and 500 staff come through Rock-N-Water, and have experienced how incredible our God is in a way that only His creation can show. We cannot express our gratitude for all the help that we have received to keep it going all these years, but more importantly for supporting what God’s will is for our camp and the glory of God that continues to shine throughout.
We want to thank you for your prayers, for your support, for your hard work, and simply for your belief in our efforts to show how great our God is and how evident He is just by looking at His wonderful creation. God has blessed this company for many, many years by providing us with such an amazing Christian community, who is there for us with continuous prayer and support. We thank you for believing in what God has done and is doing in the lives of those who have come through this place. We pray that you will be just as blessed, and even more so, as we have been throughout the years.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, … encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” -Hebrews 10:24-25
