| Why I work at Rock-N-Water: | ||
| I work at Rock-N-Water because being used by God and bringing Glory to him is the most fulfilling thing that we as humans can do, and RNW is the place where I have experienced both being used by our Creator, and bringing glory to Him in ways that I have not anywhere else. I work at RNW because I know it is what God wants me to do. God wants to use me to bring other people closer to Him (which is an honor that I know I’m not worthy of), and he wants to use the people that come through RNW to draw me closer to Him and to see Him better. I have learned many things during my seasons working at RNW, and I have also developed some very close friendships. I remember leading a group of fourth graders and their parents out into the woods where we had a devotion and than a quiet time to reflect upon the things that were read from Scripture, where we were surrounded by nothing but Gods creation. Once we returned from the walk, I noticed that one of the moms in my group was silently crying. When I asked her if there was anything that I could do for her, she said that there was not. She then told me that she was not a Christian, and that she had never taken the time to reflect upon God’s Word or His creation. She then thanked me for leading our group in the quiet time and asked to borrow my Bible. Now, I do not know what has become of that woman, or if she turned to Christ. I am sad to say that I’m not even sure anymore what her name is. What I do know is this: with all of the hundreds of people that have come through RNW on trips that I have either lead or I have been a part of, if there has been even just one person that I have affected in a positive way and that would look back and say that I played a part in leading them to Christ than I believe that my time has been well spent. My desire is to stand before my Creator and have Him say to me “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. I believe that working at Rock-N-Water is one of that ways that I can help that desire to eventually become a reality. | ||
