About Rock-N-Water

Rock-N-Water is a group of Christians who want to impact campers of all ages with the joy of God’s Living Word. Our desire is that you might come to know the joy of our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to pass on God’s love to others with excitement. We focus our programs on biblical principles, and use the help of nature, friendship, and adventurous outdoor challenges to develop eternal transformational change.

Located an hour East of Sacramento in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of California, our staff travel from across the United States to minister to your students. Cross trained as camp counselors, youth ministers, and high adventure guides, they positively transform the lives of youth and adults alike. Our staff savor the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in your students’ lives.

Every Rock-N-Water trip is built around the idea that spending time in the outdoors, through fun and challenging adventures, is a great way to help youth and adults to experience real personal growth in their Christian faith. Each camp includes full action packed days of adventurous outdoor exploration with our summer counselors. And each adventure includes time intentionally set aside in the middle of each day to give you ample opportunity to just stop, and think, and pray. At night we gather together around the campfire for a time of worship and a more indepth biblical devotional.

Fantastic, I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time at rocknwater.

Great trip, facility was good, guides/staff were great and food was amazing. Our kids had a wonderful time and the leaders did as well.

I went to rock-n-water as a parent of our schools 8th grade trip. Not only did our students have a blast but our parents/teachers did as well.
It was so nice to go to a place where we could freely talk about our relationship with God, pray before meals and our outings each day, and just have a blast! No electronics, what parent doesn’t like like kind of fun for their child?

I would HIGHLY recommend this place to any group wanting to get away in a safe and fun environment. Staff was over-the-top accommodating, experienced and fun!

Kirk and Ellen, our guides, were great!! Rafting was really exciting. The canyon hike and trip back down the river was fun, but quite strenuous. Groups should know it’s a difficult excursion. All of our kids, who are in great physical shape, strong swimmersand some even junior lifeguards, said it was a very difficult day. We felt as though Kirk did a good job getting them back down, but it was more dangerous than expected. I think floatation devices should have been used, even just the noodle type foam tube that two of our kids used should have been manditory for all. Do your guides carry some kind of radios on the canyon excursion? It is quite remote and if someone, especially the guide, had been hurt how would you contact help? As far as the camping areas, the facilities were great. I would add to your list of items to bring for the parent chaperones a chair and lanterns. We arrived and were setting up camp after dark. It would have been nice to have more light for that task. The food was good, but your menu planning need help. Three meals in a row made with tortilla wraps. Kids also need a mid afternoon snack with more protein than a granola bar. Thanks for the awesome memories!

I loved spending part of my week with “Rock-n-Water”! The guides were fun, helpful, and very knowledgable about the area we spent our time in. I felt very relaxed even though some of the things we did and experienced were a bit out of my comfort zone (snakes, cliff jumping, and just swimming in something that wasn’t the pool). I want to personally, and genuinely thank the guides for taking their time out of there lives to come spend their time with us teaching us about the outdoors and helping us grow in our faith. They were very good at making sure we were all safe while doing some of the riskier things that “Rock-n-Waters” has to offer (cliff jumping and rafting). The food there was great! I was expecting a place with a kitchen that was outdoors to have not so great food, but boy was I wrong! They had warm, flavorful pancakes one morning, they had burritos in the afternoon and all the other meals were as good or if not better than that. All the boats and paddles were in the top condition. My buddy had a broken helmet with a tiny crack in it and they still provided him with a new one. Like I said before I believe that they always made sure that we felt comfortable! Thank You ~Noah

Rock N Water is an awesome place to bring youth to enjoy God and His playground. We may be back up there this summer.

Statement of Belief

We believe we should, "Love the Lord (our) God with all (our) heart, and with all (our) soul, and with all (our) mind," and "The entire law is summed up in one command: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37, Galatians 5:14. We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal and only Son of God. That He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice, paying the penalty for all our sins, and then rose from the grave. It is through faith alone in Jesus Christ that we have received the free gift of salvation and eternal life. We are saved by grace, not works, “that no one should boast”. We believe the Bible is accurate, reliable, and the Word of God. (Luke 5:20-24; John 1:1-18; John 3:15-21; John 14:1-15; Ephesians 2; 1 John)

Who we are

We are a group of Christians who want to safely lead people into the wonder of God’s creation, challenging them through adventures designed to help them grow personally, relationally, and spiritually.   We focus our program on biblical principles, and we use the help of nature, friendship, and challenge to develop character.
