The kids had a wonderful time. The guides were great (Pepper was awesome). All the staff was nice. I would definitely recommend the 49er camp to other 4th grade classes. I would go again. However, a constructive criticism is that it would be helpful for the parents to receive a more detailed itinerary of what to expect as far as meal schedules, and clarification on where bathrooms and showers, etc. are located, that the campfire will last long enough that we will need a lamp on the way back to our tent, etc. If there was a orientation or talk about that when we first arrived, I missed that because we were setting up the tents. Also, as a vegetarian family, we were left a bit hungry at dinner time because the entry was chili (which I hear was tasty, but unfortunately we could not eat it), and chicken pot pie (but we did eat the salad that meal, so thank you for that). Otherwise, great program. Also really enjoyed the evening entertainment around the campfire. The gentleman who performed the juggling and directed the games and dancing was personable, fun to watch, and his juggling was impressive. The kids were mesmerized and having lots of fun. Good job Rock-N-Water!
