Leadership Retreat for Christian Youth Workers
An adventurous getaway for youth ministry leaders and their spouses.
What can I expect?
Post Covid-19, no one knows WHAT to expect anymore, but here is our hope: We hope that you and your spouse are able to come to camp to rest, process, and connect with other Youth Ministry workers who have shared experiences similar to yours, both pre and post-coronavirus. We want to provide a space and a time for you to share your heart, unload your burdens, and find laughter and camaraderie around the hope we have in Jesus–all while adventuring in God’s beautiful creation.
We’ll Spend two nights camping under the stars along the banks of the American River in Lotus, California at Rock-N-Water Christian Camp. Arrive Thursday night to a hot dinner around a Rock-N-Water table, and get to know other youth workers and continue the conversation as you transition into settling in at your campsite (We will have tents set up for you, but if you’d prefer to bring and use your own, that’s cool, too). Spend time in worship, prayer and reflection over a warm campfire.
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we’ll spend time in a guided group devotion, and then you’ll get some quiet time to be alone with God. You’ll also have an opportunity to enjoy some downtime with your spouse. After lunch we’ll jump on the river for an exciting 10 mile Class III white water rafting trip. Upon returning to camp, your paddling-induced appetite will be richly rewarded with an epic Rock-N-Water dinner, followed by a time of worship and devotion as we gather around the campfire.
On day 2 we will get on the river immediately after breakfast for the upper section of the South Fork of the American River. The last hurrah will be lunch alongside the river before we part ways and say farewell to our new friends so you can be back in time for church on Sunday.
Why should you do it?
This is not a joke. There is no catch. This spiritual retreat is our gift to Christian pastors and youth workers who consistently give of themselves for the sake of Christ’s kingdom. This is about renewing and restoring you, not programming. You are precious to us. We hope that Rock-N-Water Christian Camps can help refresh you and strengthen your ability to continue to serve in Youth Ministry, and especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Secondly, this trip is an investment. We hope that your time with us will inspire you to take your students into the outdoors more often – and yes, maybe even bring them back with you to Rock-N-Water Christian Camp.
