Join us for family fun, 49er style. History comes alive as your family takes an unforgettable adventure to 1854 with characters from the Gold Rush. Pan for gold in the South Fork of the American river with a miner of the era. Follow an Indian woman to learn her native ways, and play with foreign settlers as they challenge you to games from their homelands, teach you to make rope, or help you grow closer to God through stories and quiet times in the middle of God’s creation. You never know just who you might meet in 1854. On our overnight programs we’ll gather around the campfire for singing, dancing, worship, and Christian devotional before “hitting the hay”.
You will be meeting us in Placerville, California where we will explore restored gold mines. Then we’ll head for our claim in Coloma to set up camp, pan for gold, make rope, sing, dance, and do so much more. The fun never stops coming in 1854!
On our Double Jack homeschooling dates you are welcome to bring any ages that you want. However, please understand that Rock-N-Water Christian Camp’s 49er Fun program is designed/optimized for 4th graders, and is therefore most ideal for students in 3rd through 5th grade or about 8-11 years old. While you are welcome to bring kids of any ages (after all, you know them best), please be aware that younger kids might find it over their heads, and older kids might find it too childish for them.
If you decide to bring kids under the age of 5 years old, they can come for 30% of the regular price. Please call or email us to sign them up with your trip.
We have set aside this trip to be open for kids of all ages. If you have a group of 30 or more (kids+parents) and these dates do not work, we might be able to open up a second multi-age range date for you and others.
Many parents on our homeschool 49er Fun trips ask us if they can add a half day of rafting onto their living history field trip. Yes, yes you can. A few things to be aware of
While we will provide wetsuits and other cold-weather gear, Springtime rafting trips tend to be a bit chilly. Lots of fun… but cold.
Springtime river conditions can vary greatly from one year to the next. Some years we might need to cancel and refund your money if we do not believe that the conditions are safe.
Add a half day Class II Float Trip to you Double Jack for just $45 more per person. Ideal for less adventure seeking individuals, and younger travelers. Your departure will change to 3pm.
Add a half day Class III Whitewater Rafting Trip to you Double Jack for just $75 more per person. Ideal for individuals ages 9 and older. While we can take individuals as young as 7 on Class III rapids, springtime rafting is more optimal for older students. Your departure will change to 6pm.
Full refund if canceled within 14 days of booking (and at least 14 days before the trip).
75% of Trip price refunded if canceled at least 14 days before the trip.
You can secure your spot with as little as a 25% deposit within 14 days of making your reservation. Our office will review your reservation and confirm the details within 1 business day. Refund / Cancellation Policy Details
We believe we should, "Love the Lord (our) God with all (our) heart, and with all (our) soul, and with all (our) mind," and "The entire law is summed up in one command: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37, Galatians 5:14. We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal and only Son of God. That He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice, paying the penalty for all our sins, and then rose from the grave. It is through faith alone in Jesus Christ that we have received the free gift of salvation and eternal life. We are saved by grace, not works, “that no one should boast”. We believe the Bible is accurate, reliable, and the Word of God. (Luke 5:20-24; John 1:1-18; John 3:15-21; John 14:1-15; Ephesians 2; 1 John)
Who we are
Rock-N-Water is a group of Christians who want to impact young people with the joy of God's Living Word, so they might come to know Jesus and pass on God's love with excitement. We focus our program on biblical principals, and we use the help of nature, friendship, and challenge to develop character.
