Statement of Belief

We believe we should, "Love the Lord (our) God with all (our) heart, and with all (our) soul, and with all (our) mind," and "The entire law is summed up in one command: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37, Galatians 5:14. We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal and only Son of God. That He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice, paying the penalty for all our sins, and then rose from the grave. It is through faith alone in Jesus Christ that we have received the free gift of salvation and eternal life. We are saved by grace, not works, “that no one should boast”. We believe the Bible is accurate, reliable, and the Word of God. (Luke 5:20-24; John 1:1-18; John 3:15-21; John 14:1-15; Ephesians 2; 1 John)

Who we are

Rock-N-Water is a group of Christians who want to impact young people with the joy of God's Living Word, so they might come to know Jesus and pass on God's love with excitement. We focus our program on biblical principals, and we use the help of nature, friendship, and challenge to develop character.

Explore God’s Creation while Backpacking and Rafting Class III Rapids

A Five Day Adventure Camp – Amazing relationship building time while your group is secluded in God’s creation makes this trip our favorite Christian summer camp. We’ll spend four days backpacking, canyoneering, and rock climbing in the backcountry of the Sierras of California. Then we’ll celebrate on the fifth day with Class III river rafting on the South Fork of the American River.

While out in the backcountry, we’ll explore God’s playground, and challenge ourselves to grow in our Christian faith through quiet times, campfires, climbing, waterslides, and rappelling off a 90ft. cliff. We believe this trip is simply… Unbeatable!

We take care of the details

Backpacking with a youth group in God’s creation is an amazing ministry opportunity, but it can also be a logistical headache. At Rock-N-Water we will take care of all those planning and implementation details so that you can focus on the things that matter most, developing positive relationships with your students, and helping direct them to grow in their Christian journey.

We provide all the backpacking related gear that your students might not have (including backpacking backpacks1, tents, cooking equipment, rock climbing gear…), so that preparing for a backpacking trip is as simple as preparing to take your kids to any normal summer camp.

  • You can add dinner, campfire, and camping to depart instead on Saturday by 8 AM with breakfast on the road for just $20/person.
  • T-shirts can be ordered for the whole group at $10/person. You can lead campfire and other teaching opportunities yourself, combine your teaching efforts with those of our staff, or just ask us to handle it all for you – at no additional charge.
  • High School groups can bump it up to Class IV rafting with our Backpacker Paluza Chuck.

Check out our Backpacker Paluza Synopsis for more details.

We limit this trip to just one group per week, so backpacking dates disappear quickly.

  1. Regarding backpacking backpacks – If you or a student happens to own their own backpacking backpack, then yes, we’d encourage them to bring it. Most likely your personal backpack will fit you better than the very nice, but not personally tailored, backpacks that we have.
