Winter: Walk-On-Water
Showshoe into a remote cabin in the California Sierra Nevada mountains with your church youth group.
Travel up to the mountains of Northern California for an isolated time together with your youth, our staff, and God at a remote cabin overlooking two private snow covered lakes 6400 feet above sea level. Unlike a winter ski trip where you loose track of your youth group as they spread out on over 100 different trails and lifts, it is our goal to keep your group closer together so that you and your leaders might be able to better connect and minister with each and every student, as we all strive together to grow in our Christian faith.
The first day we'll check your gear, learn the basics of snowshoeing, and then lift our packs for a 2-4 mile (if your group is hardy, and the weather is right, we'll take the long way) beginners snow shoe hike through the snow to a remote yet modern cabin. If you are coming in at night, the plan will be to an amazing night hike through the winter snow (baring sever weather).
Once we get to the cabin, and even along the trail on the way there, we will have a lot of options for what to do while we are out in God's winter covered creation. Our Christian staff will customize the adventures and activities to best meet your group and the goals you have for your winter retreat. We can explore the secluded snow covered hills, hike around the lakes, watch the sun set from atop a mountain peak, build snow caves, play "paint ball" with snow balls, building snow candles, hang out in the cabin, and of course go sledding. We'll also make sure to provide some great quiet times alone in God's snow covered mountains.
More Information
For more information on our Christian camps, or to check on availability please Contact Us. We'd love to answer any questions you might have.
Note: The cabin is fully furnished, and while we'd like it to be more on the rustic side, having a Dryer and Hot Shower available for emergencies allows us to be more adventurous with time we spend out in the snow. We also have access to a snow mobile and cell phone reception (for emergencies only).
We have amazingly fun contingency plans in place for a wide variety of weather conditions. We will contact you in the rare event that conditions become so strong that we need to cancel your trip.
