History of Rock-N-Water
Rock-N-Water was founded in 1989 by two Christian couples that desired to help youth come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by taking them on adventures in the outdoors. It started with wild and fun whitewater rafting trips on the South Fork of the American River, Rock Climbing trips that brought youth out of the cement jungle and into the marvel of outdoor granite rock faces, and backpacking trips that brought time alone with God as you can only experience miles away from "everyday" life. A year later a program was started for 4th grade students and their parents, to help them experience God through adventures in history as they discovered what life was like back in the times of the California gold rush, it was called -- 49er Fun.
The years have come and gone, but the passion has stayed the same, helping youth of all ages to grow closer to God through adventures in His creation. Trips now include Team Building days, Class IV rafting, Yakking, canyoneering through three different river canyons, and just added in the winter of 2008-2009 cross country snowshoeing trips in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
To all of you that have been an part of Rock-N-Water's ministry -- Staff, Volunteers, Campers, Youth Pastors, Teachers, Scout Groups, Families, and prayer warriors -- Thank you for your continued support as together we reach out to youth for Christ.
